UNDERSTAND THE MOVEMENT
How a height-adjustable gas lift works
The chair lever operates the gas-lift valve through the seat mechanism. With the valve open, the seat can move within its adjustment range; releasing the lever retains the selected height. The position-restoring family serves a different function: it returns the seat to its starting direction at a fixed height.
What makes a gas lift the right fit?
Start with the movement your chair needs. Then check the dimensions, actuation and loading conditions together. A model name or class alone cannot establish compatibility.
Closed length and connections
Check closed and extended lengths, tube diameter, cone engagement and valve actuation. A matching diameter alone does not guarantee a correct fit. Confirm the drawing and test the sample in the actual mechanism and base.
Force and working load
Gas force in newtons (N) and user weight in kilograms (kg) describe different things. Share the intended use and loading conditions so the force and complete chair configuration can be reviewed together.
Class and test requirements
Class 2, 3 or 4 is one specification input. It does not by itself certify the complete chair or define its safe user weight. Request the applicable test evidence for the exact configuration and destination market.
Black or chrome finish
Specify the finish, the amount of exposed tube and the intended environment. Black and chrome options vary by family. Any special surface performance requirement should be stated in the enquiry.
Quantity, packaging and OEM
Include the order quantity, forecast, destination, drawing and sample acceptance requirements. Marking, packaging, minimum order quantity and production lead time are agreed for the requested configuration.
Questions before you specify a gas lift
Will the same gas lift fit every chair?
No. Lengths, cone engagement, valve actuation and the mechanism/base combination must be checked together. Review a dimensioned drawing and sample before confirming a replacement or production order.
Does 60–305 mm describe the stroke range?
No. Standard models list 60, 80, 100, 120 and 140 mm strokes; high-lift models list 200 and 260 mm strokes. The 225, 265 and 305 mm figures in the position-restoring family describe overall length, with no vertical stroke.
Does Class 4 guarantee a particular user weight?
No. A class label is not a complete-chair load certificate. Final suitability depends on the exact gas lift, chair structure, use conditions and applicable test evidence.
Can I order a small quantity with my own logo?
OEM marking and special packaging have order conditions. The published lower-pivot and custom-product offers specify 50,000 units or more for logo and printed-carton options. Confirm the requirement for your exact order before planning private-label supply.
Where are prices and delivery times listed?
A quotation is prepared for the model, quantity, finish, packaging and destination. Production timing, delivery terms and any required documents are confirmed with that quotation.
